The “Skunkanator” was called out to the Culver City area of Los Angeles for a skunk Removal. The skunks were getting in under the house and tearing up the insulation and stinking the house up really bad. The home owners daughter was sent home from school because she smelt like skunk. I set up five traps and the next day the traps were full of skunks. Today Animal Capture Wildlife Control was called out to a residence in the Granada Hills area of Los Angeles. I had been trapping at this residence for a week now because the dog was attacked by a raccoon. Today they called me and told me I had three skunks in one trap. It is not uncommon to trap two animal in a trap at the same time, but three is pretty rare. These animal get trapped in the same trap together because they eat so close together. In this case it was a mother skunk and two of her babies. The skunks were taken to a nice place with plenty of water and food to grow up together and released. Animal Capture Wildlife Control was called out to Long Beach for a skunk removal. The client stated the skunk was living under the home. The skunk had been spraying and stinking up the whole house. I received a call today that the skunk was in the trap. I responded right away and removed the skunk. It sprayed me right in the chest. I came out to do an under floor inspection and did not find any skunks under the home. That does not mean nothing is under there, they could have been hiding or not under there at that time. I set up some traps and she called me today telling me we caught a skunk in the trap. She was very happy the skunk was trapped right away. Yesterday Animal Capture Wildlife Control was called out to the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles for a skunk removal. The client stated the skunks were burrowing under the concrete stairway of her home. I came out to do an inspection of the property and found two different burrows. I looked into one of the burrows and seen that the burrow went in and to the right and left. The burrow was probably six feet by eight feet. I then set up four traps at the entry points of the burrows. Well the client called me this morning and told me “you trapped the skunk the first night!” She also stated I trapped the raccoon that her dog had been fighting with. I set up more traps to see if there are more animals. I usually recommend three to five days with nothing in the traps after catching the animals. Then you know you have trapped all the animals causing the problems and we pull the traps. On Janurary 5, 2010 Jeremy from Animal Capture Wildlife Control appeared on Dirty Jobs on the Discovery channel.  Animal  Capture Wildlife Control was on there to do skunk removal, raccoon removal, opossum removal, and dead animal removal.  The first home on the show we removed a dead skunk from under the home.  The smell was intense and the skunk was covered in maggots.  Then we also trapped a skunk that was removed from the under floor.  It sprayed us many times.  The homes under floor was sealed up and the skunk was released.  The next place we did was an apartment building in West Hollywood.  This place was crawling with animals.  We removed a skunk, raccoon, opossum, and many dead animal carcasses.  We went under the building to do an inspection to see where the animals were going in and out, see if any damage was done, and see if we found any more animals.  We sealed up the building and released the animals.  It was a great expierence working with Mike Rowe.  I get many questions about Mike Rowe, but the number one question “is Mike a nice guy and the same as he is on tv?”  The answer is yes.  He is such a nice guy and down to earth. I was called out to a house in Los Angeles to remove a skunkthat was burrowing under the concrete next to a spa.  When I arrived, I noticed a lot of dirt around the hole.  This was a big burrow.  I set up one trap on each side of the burrow.  When I arrived the next day I found a skunk in the trap.  Not only was the skunk in the trap, there was five baby skunksall around the outside of the trap.
