The “Skunkanator” was called out to the Culver City area of Los Angeles for a skunk Removal. The skunks were getting in under the house and tearing up the insulation and stinking the house up really bad. The home owners daughter was sent home from school because she smelt like skunk. I set up five traps and the next day the traps were full of skunks. Animal Capture Wildlife Control was called out to Long Beach for a skunk removal. The client stated the skunk was living under the home. The skunk had been spraying and stinking up the whole house. I received a call today that the skunk was in the trap. I responded right away and removed the skunk. It sprayed me right in the chest. It was a little windy today so the sheet I was using was blowing in the wind and the skunk got me in the chest. It’s no big dead for me, I stink like a skunk almost everyday. This week Animal Capture Wildlife Control was called out to Pacific Palisades because a homeowner woke up in the middle of the night with a terrible skunk odor in the home. I came out to do an under floor inspection and did not find any skunks under the home. That does not mean nothing is under there, they could have been hiding or not under there at that time. I set up some traps and she called me today telling me we caught a skunk in the trap. She was very happy the skunk was trapped right away. On Janurary 5, 2010 Jeremy from Animal Capture Wildlife Control appeared on Dirty Jobs on the Discovery channel.  Animal  Capture Wildlife Control was on there to do skunk removal, raccoon removal, opossum removal, and dead animal removal.  The first home on the show we removed a dead skunk from under the home.  The smell was intense and the skunk was covered in maggots.  Then we also trapped a skunk that was removed from the under floor.  It sprayed us many times.  The homes under floor was sealed up and the skunk was released.  The next place we did was an apartment building in West Hollywood.  This place was crawling with animals.  We removed a skunk, raccoon, opossum, and many dead animal carcasses.  We went under the building to do an inspection to see where the animals were going in and out, see if any damage was done, and see if we found any more animals.  We sealed up the building and released the animals.  It was a great expierence working with Mike Rowe.  I get many questions about Mike Rowe, but the number one question “is Mike a nice guy and the same as he is on tv?”  The answer is yes.  He is such a nice guy and down to earth. Today I had a client call me out because she had a skunk in the trap I set yesterday in Santa Monica. I set up some traps around her home because she had skunks living under her home and tearing up the grass. These skunks tear up the lawn because they are eating the grubs and worms in the grass. The skunks especiallytear up sod that is new because it is loaded with grubs under the sod. The skunks roll it back like carpet and can destroy the sod so much so that you might need to replace it. I have people that stake chicken wire over the whole grass because the skunks tear it up so much. The skunks will just keep coming back until you trap them and get rid of them. Another thing about skunks is if they are under your home and have a litter, they are like salmon. The babies disperse out and when they are ready to have thier babies they come back to where they were born. So you definetly need to trap and get rid of them before they just keep multiplying. I trap and relocate the animals in the most humane way possible. We never hurt the animals. Yesterday Animal Capture Wildlife Control was called out to a home in Malibu for a skunk stinking up the house. The house smelled so bad the baby was sent home from daycare because he stunk the daycare up like skunk. I came out to find the home stunk really bad of skunk odor. I did an inspection and found the skunk had torn off the crawlspace cover where a human would access the under floor. I checked the under floor for damage, droppings, and entry points. There was quite a bit of droppings under the home. Other than that there was no damage other than the skunk odor. I set up some traps at the entry points and today she called me and let me know we caught one skunk. I never set the traps under the home because when the skunk gets trapped and I come to get him a lot of times the skunk will spray and it will stink the house up all over again. I set the traps only right at the access points outside the home. One skunk caught and I left the traps to see if there were more. I usually go three to five days with nothing in the traps, then you know nothing else is under the house and we seal it up. Today a client in Calabasas called out to remove a skunk trapped in a soccer net.  When I arrived I seen the skunk had his front leg and neck tied up in the soccer net.  First I got the head of the skunk in a catch all pole to control the head.  Then I cut the net around the skunks head.  After removing the skunk from the main net, I took the skunk by my hand and put it on the ground and carefully cut and removed the net from the skunks head and leg.  The skunkwas really calm in the process and never really tried to bite me.  I guess he knew Animal Capture Wildlife Control does NOT hurt animals.  We are only here to help them.  He was released and happy to go on with his day.  Another successful skunk removal at Animal Capture Wildlife Control.  For more information on skunks and other wildlife check out our website animalcapturewildlifecontrol.com

I was called out to a house in Los Angeles to remove a skunkthat was burrowing under the concrete next to a spa.  When I arrived, I noticed a lot of dirt around the hole.  This was a big burrow.  I set up one trap on each side of the burrow.  When I arrived the next day I found a skunk in the trap.  Not only was the skunk in the trap, there was five baby skunksall around the outside of the trap.
