This weekend Animal Capture Wildlife Control was called out to West Los Angeles for a dead animal removal from an apartment building. The owner had stated the tenants were complaining about a terribal odor. The owner had a plumber come out to check on the plumbing to make sure there was not a plumbing leak. The plumber ended up coming out and trowing up because there was a dead opossum under the apartment. The owner called Animal Capture Wildlife Control out to remove the dead animal. When I responded I was walking around the outside of the apartment to see where the animals were entering the structure and found there were two foundation ents that were off. I also noticed a ton of flies at this one foundation vent and it also had a terribal odor coming out of it. I went uncer the apartment to find a huge dead opossum. The opossum was covered in fleas, maggots and flies. The odor was serious. I removed the animal a poured some pinesol over the dirt where the animal was. The tenants were happy they could finally get some sleep again. Dead Opossum Stuck in Fence In Burbank

dead opossum in fence 300x225 Dead Opossum Stuck in Fence In Burbank

Today I had a client call me out to Burbank because he noticed that an opossum had his head stuck in a fence and he did not want to get close to it. When I arrived I found the opossum had been dead for at least 7-10 days. The opossum was loaded with maggots, flies, and fleas. When I lifted the opossum up to put her in the bag there was six dead babies under her. I felt really bad!!! I wish he would have noticed her before she died so I could have come out and removed her from the fence. Dead Animal Removal, Los Angeles Dead Animal Removal

DEAD OPOSSUM PIC2 300x225 Dead Animal Removal, Los Angeles Dead Animal Removal

In August had a client call Animal Capture Wildlife Control  for dead animal removal.  The whole house smelled intense of dead animal.  When you have a animal die under your home like a rat, the smell could last up to a month.  If the animal is larger like an opossum or a raccoon, the smell could last up to four months.  Another thing the homeowner was complaining about is the whole family was being eaten by fleas.  I came out to do an under floor inspection.  In my under floor inspection, I check to see where the animals are entering the building, if there is any damage, and look for the dead animal.  As soon as I went under the home I was covered in fleas.  This is quite common with live opossums and dead opossums.  I had to come out and spray raid on my coveralls and a little in my hair.  I then returned to under the home and after a couple twist and turns I found the dead opossum.  The opossum was covered in fleas, maggots, and flies.  I put the dead animal in a bag, removed some of the dirt around the animal, and the customer had me put some pine-sol in the area where the dead animal was.   The customer asked “how long it would take for the smell to be gone?”  Usually after the dead animal is removed, the smell will dissipate rapidly. Usually one or two days.  I also recommend to have a pest control company come out and spray for fleas.  After I was done I replaced the vent at no charge that the opossum had torn off to enter the under floor.   Another successful dead animal removal at Animal Capture Wildlife Control.
