The “Skunkanator” was called out to the Culver City area of Los Angeles for a skunk Removal. The skunks were getting in under the house and tearing up the insulation and stinking the house up really bad. The home owners daughter was sent home from school because she smelt like skunk. I set up five traps and the next day the traps were full of skunks. Five in total in one day. This is why they call me the “Skunkanator!” I specialize in skunk removal from under homes, sheds, and inside homes. I was also featured on the show “Dirty Jobs” on the discovery channel for removing skunks. Some would say I am immune to the smell, but I tell them…”to me, it’s the smell of money!” I tell people if you can’t see me coming, you can smell me coming! LOL! People ask me all the time “how do you get rid of the smell?” I use a product called “Skunk Off.” It works great! It was chemically made in a lab to eliminate the odor, not just cover it up! It is totally safe for humans, dogs, and anything else you need it for. I use it all the time! So if you have a skunk issue, you know who to call! I service most of Southern California from Los Angeles to Bakersfield. Today I had a client call me out in the Altadena area of Los Angeles because her home  had a heavy skunk odor. She owns her own trap so she decided to try to trap the skunk on her own and ended up trapping a raccoon. She wanted me to come out and remove the raccoon. I also told her I would inspect around her home for her at no charge. When I arrived I removed the raccoon out of her trap and put the raccoon in one of my traps. I then did an inspection from the outside and she wanted me to come in and smell the skunk odor in the home. In the outside inspection I seen a few flies coming out around the vent area. I also went in the home to smell the skunk odor. I told her that it obviously smelled heavily of skunk, but different. In my experience the odor was a heavy skunk odor, but I was smelling was what I thought was a dead skunk. She told me to go under and do an inspection. Sure enough, I went under and found a dead skunk about twelve feet in. It was a little old and flat. The skunk had maggots, flies, and fleas all over it. It had been there for about a 6 weeks. She said she had been shelling it for a while, but just started trying to trap in. Anyways, she was glad to resolve the problem and get the dead skunk removed. This week I had a client Animal Capture Wildlife Control out to Rancho Palos Verdes for a dead animal removal. The client stated they smelled a dead animal in the heating duct unit at the vent and opened the vent and there was a dead rat lying right there. They removed the dead rat themselves and still smelled a dead animal smell so they asked me to come out and do an under floor inspection. When I arrived I went under the home to inspect and found a huge rat problem. Not only was there a rat problem, but there was a major heating unit problem. The air duct system was a disaster. There was air ducts disconnected everywhere. The rats would enter in the air ducts atthe points they were open and run through the system defecating and urinating though out the system. They also would get lost and stuck in there and die. I ended up finding a huge rats nest on top of the heating unit. There was many rat droppings, bird feathers, fruit cores, and snail shells the rats had been eating. I then found a dead cat that had been under there for a very long time. I also found a dead rat under the home that was smelling and covered in maggots. The crazy thing is the client had just bought the home and has only lived there two weeks. The home should have never passed the pest inspection. Also, the inspection should have noticed the heating unit was a disaster. Guess you never know what your really getting! WILL BE ON DIRTY JOBS oN 4/24 AT 6 & 9

On Janurary 5, 2010 Jeremy from Animal Capture Wildlife Control appeared on Dirty Jobs on the Discovery channelAnimal  Capture Wildlife Control was on there to do skunk removal, raccoon removal, opossum removal, and dead animal removal.  The first home on the show we removed a dead skunk from under the home.  The smell was intense and the skunk was covered in maggots.  Then we also trapped a skunk that was removed from the under floor.  It sprayed us many times.  The homes under floor was sealed up and the skunk was released.  The next place we did was an apartment building in West Hollywood.  This place was crawling with animals.  We removed a skunk, raccoon, opossum, and many dead animal carcasses.  We went under the building to do an inspection to see where the animals were going in and out, see if any damage was done, and see if we found any more animals.  We sealed up the building and released the animals.  It was a great expierence working with Mike Rowe.  I get many questions about Mike Rowe, but the number one question “is Mike a nice guy and the same as he is on tv?”  The answer is yes.  He is such a nice guy and down to earth. He is very whitty and always having a good time.  Him and his crew are a great bunch of guys.  They are always pulling pranks on eachother.  If you would like to see Animal Capture Wildlife Control on Dirty Jobs click link http://dsc.discovery.com/videos/dirty-jobs-animal-control/

DEAD OPOSSUM PIC2 300x225 Dead Animal Removal, Los Angeles Dead Animal Removal

In August had a client call Animal Capture Wildlife Control  for dead animal removal.  The whole house smelled intense of dead animal.  When you have a animal die under your home like a rat, the smell could last up to a month.  If the animal is larger like an opossum or a raccoon, the smell could last up to four months.  Another thing the homeowner was complaining about is the whole family was being eaten by fleas.  I came out to do an under floor inspection.  In my under floor inspection, I check to see where the animals are entering the building, if there is any damage, and look for the dead animal.  As soon as I went under the home I was covered in fleas.  This is quite common with live opossums and dead opossums.  I had to come out and spray raid on my coveralls and a little in my hair.  I then returned to under the home and after a couple twist and turns I found the dead opossum.  The opossum was covered in fleas, maggots, and flies.  I put the dead animal in a bag, removed some of the dirt around the animal, and the customer had me put some pine-sol in the area where the dead animal was.   The customer asked “how long it would take for the smell to be gone?”  Usually after the dead animal is removed, the smell will dissipate rapidly. Usually one or two days.  I also recommend to have a pest control company come out and spray for fleas.  After I was done I replaced the vent at no charge that the opossum had torn off to enter the under floor.   Another successful dead animal removal at Animal Capture Wildlife Control.
