This week Animal Capture Wildlife Control was called out to a house in Los Angeles because the homeowner stated she had a snake inside her pantry. I told her to put a towel under the door so the snake could not get out. I responded right away and when I arrived I found a four and a half foot gopher snake in the pantry. The gopher snake was striking and hissing at me. Just because the snake is not venomous does NOT mean the snake won’t bite you! Snakes can still break the skin when they bite. Also some snakes still carry salmonella. I removed the snake and relocated it to the mountains. She said the snake came in she thought because she had her door open all day.
